Parent Fundraising Team

The mere mention of PTA can have some parents walking quickly through the playground to avoid being asked to help out at an event.  But surprise…. If you have a child at the school then you are automatically a member of the PTA so why not take a more active part and influence the activities that are arranged or the way in which we support the school and the items we can fund. 

We are a very small group of parents that are working together to enhance the school experience for all our children through community activities.  Yes we do ask for everyone’s help - time and donations.  In order to make the events a success we do need that help.  Without your help we cannot make these events part of our children’s school experience.  We look back on the school discos and fetes we enjoyed as children with fond memories and we want to ensure that all our children have similar memories of their time at school. 

As well as trying to create these experiences for our children we do want to raise money so that we can buy additional things within the school.  Budgets reducing affects everyone and schools are no exception to this and while the basics are covered it will be those added extras that get lost and we hope that the funds we raise can go towards these extras in the future.  We are fully aware though that many families currently struggle with the rising costs of everything and so while we are trying to fundraise we also do our best to keep the costs for our events as low as possible but it can be a difficult line to maintain.  

Come and join the PTA

We do need volunteers to continue what we do and maybe to run more activities in the future.  Do you have a little spare time or maybe a skill or contact that could prove invaluable.  There are a variety of ways that you can get involved.  You can take a role on the committee, you can help organise an event or you can join our stars group who simply help at events as and when they can.  Whether it’s an hour selling cakes or overseeing Christmas crafts there is always a variety of things to get involved in.  There are also non-event activities that we need help in arranging so there’s plenty going on. 

In the past we have run school disco’s, quiz nights and fayres and previously the PTA have used this money to fund the playground markings, picnic benches, wet play activities, buddy bench and library books.  We have plans and activities that we’d like to organise going forward but we have to manage within the resources and that is why we are always welcoming of more people coming to take a more active role.  We and the school have lots of ideas on where we would like to spend the money that we do raise. 

There are many amazing parents at this school with a range of unique abilities and experiences that could contribute to the PTA and give us new ideas going forward.  If you can assist or just want to come along and see how we do things then please get in touch.
